Core mission:
The trajectory of growth at Borough Developers began in 2010, when its founding duo operated a fast paced management firm in the NYC vicinity. Known as B. Management, the company actively sourced competent contractors to coordinate key construction projects under their umbrella of management services.
With a vast knowledge of the construction complexities, Shimon Kleinman spearheaded the operations at its sister company, the vision which later catapulted into a full service property development conglomerate servicing some of the city’s most prominent investors and investment firms.
Having successfully completed 90 projects since its inception, Borough Developers looks toward the future of a culturally diverse and promising future in reshaping neighborhoods, influencing landmark developments and paving the way for positive gentrification plans.
With a solidified mission to over deliver upon the stats and status of some of the most prominent structures in the region, the team at Borough Developers operate with a mindset of competence and a mission of excellence.
Leadership:
Mendel Berkowitz, CEO
Founder of B. Contractors (now Borough Developers), Mendel has over a decade and hundreds of millions of dollars of experience in the white-collar part of property development. Mendel’s sharp sense for detail, numbers, fine-print of contracts, and top-and-bottom line of financials, enables him to oversee the budgeting, zoning analysis, and design of projects, followed by assuring suitable financing, needed insurance, and fair market bidding by vendors. Mendel works hand-in-hand with the construction part of the firm led by the COO to ensure that partners, clients, banks, and insurers all get their dollar’s worth on projects by keeping a sharp eye on the cost and needed filings.
Shimon Kleinman, COO
Shimon started with small-time construction gigs as a young adult, followed by renovations and the expansions of larger projects, to assuming the lead Construction role at the once-B. Contractors-now-Borough Developers. His understanding how to utilize every inch of construction space, helps decide the design and planning of projects. Once the white collar part is set, Shimon takes the lead from before the gates are erected around a planned project until after the FFE vendor leaves the site. Shimon directs the GS, site managers, forepersons, and vendors to keep the process flowing safely, ahead of schedule and in line with the budget. The distinctive strengths of Shimon and Mendel have catapulted Borough Developers into one of the most effective firms in the construction and development industry in NYC and beyond.
